NAOCC video is featured on Smithsonian Environmental Research Center's website
The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (http://www.serc.si.edu/ ) located in Edgewater Maryland is featuring my video for the North American Orchid Conservation Center on their home page. This is no coincidence as Dennis Whigham, the senior botanist featured in the video was one of the founding scientists of the SERC facility back in the 70's.
SERC is open to the public and has hiking trails and educational programs on their nearly 3,000 acre campus. It is definitely worth a visit!

Off topic... I'm getting married in 10 days!
Well this post is sort of on topic, I did create this stop motion animation for my wedding website... woo hoo!
New Clients... Welcome Smithsonian Institution and Embassy of Switzerland!
I am excited to say that it has been a fruitful month in the way of new clientele!
I was approached by the Smithsonian Institution by way of referral to assemble a video which will promote a new collaboration between the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center and public and private partnerships... NAOCC or the North American Orchid Conservation Center. This exciting project has already taken me to some amazing behind the scenes locations including the Smithsonian Greenhouses and SERC, a 3,000 acre research facility located in Edgewater Maryland.
I have also just partnered with the US Embassy of Switzerland to shoot and edit some of their premiere events for 2012! My first project involved father and son Georges and Louis Schwizgebel, who are an accomplished Swiss artist and musician respectively. Click here to watch the video.

Eye Bank Association of America PSA
I just posted two versions of a PSA promoting eye donation for the EBAA in Washington DC. As I mentioned in my earlier post, March is National Eye Donor month. Last month I flew out to Tucson to interview Christina-Taylor Green's father, John Green about the choice he and his wife made to donate Christina-Taylor's corneas.
Anyone can be a donor. Cataracts, poor eyesight, or age do not prevent you from being a donor... I am honored to work with such an important cause and encourage everyone to register to become an eye donor at www.restoresight.org

March, National Eye Donor Month
Shortly after the one year anniversary of Christina-Taylor Green's tragic death, the Eye Bank Association of America flew me out to Tucson to interview her father, John Green. Despite the recent loss, John was able to communicate the importance of cornea donation as he and his wife had donated the corneas of young Christina and benefited several recipients in the process. As an eye and organ donor, I am honored to be part of such a worthwhile cause.
During my brief stay in Tucson, I had some time to walk around the stunningly scenic grounds of the Westin La Paloma take in the unfamiliar beauty of the arid west.

Smallest lavalier microphone in the world
The countryman B6 is the newest addition to my video production arsenal and can be hidden just about anywhere (the manual suggests I could tape it to someone's face but I cant imagine that would be comfortable). I'll use this on a shoot I have coming up at the end of this month for the Eye Bank Association of America.
