My First Flash Mob

I recently worked with Living Social to orchestrate videotaping a surprise proposal at their DC event space...  click here to see if she says yes.  It was a lot of fun to be in on the secret and figure out how to get the most video coverage without being in the shot.  If you look closely you can see my feet in a few of the shots.

Experimenting in kite photography

During a recent mini vacation to Ocracoke island in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, I combined my passions for kite flying and photography for the first time.  Thanks to advances in technology in kites and cameras I was able to photograph remotely with my iPhone!  In general, I think the results were pretty good but I could have used more wind or a lighter rig to sustain my flying time a little while longer.  Click here for a link to the Flickr set.

Animation for Association of American Medical Colleges

I have had the privilege of working with the AAMC for over five years now and just finished this short promo piece.  I assembled it primarily from last years photos and it will be used to promote their national conference in early November.

Solar Powered Revolution

The Wright brothers first took to the skies in 1903 and aviation technology has continued to evolve in ways they never imagined.  Until recently, sustainable powered flight was limited to combustion engines.  The Solar Impulse crew aims to revolutionize the world with their innovative solar powered airplane and circumnavigate the globe in 2015.

Their stop in Washington DC was part of a U.S. tour from San Francisco to New York and I had the priveledge of interviewing pilots Piccard and Borschberg at the Smithsonian Air and Space museum in front of the original Wright flyer!  Many thanks to the Embassy of Switzerland for including me in this exciting project.

Taking it up a notch

After working out of my home office for years, I am thrilled to announce my new office space is at The Lookout located in Adams Morgan!  This is the closest I have come to working in a proper office environment in over ten years and I am excited to be surrounded by a group of fellow entrepreneurial video and creative professionals.  Come by and join us on our roof deck to enjoy the breeze and talk about the future.

The Next Wave - exploring industrial design

I had the pleasure of working with Douglas Burton, the curator for a beautiful 4000 square foot exhibit on industrial design at Artisphere.  Hurry up if you want to see it though, it is only on display through the end of this week!
